Newborn

Description

Created in 2020 using watercolor paints and archival ink, “Newborn” depicts the gentleness, warmth, and fragility of a newborn through its use of red, orange, and yellow, as well as imagery of the womb (red oval). Painted on handmade paper, this piece illustrates how birthing a child is a process done “by hand” and that requires thought, commitment, and care.
